I captured some beautiful photos of wading birds that wade in and feed on the mudflats of the Boyne River Estuary at Drogheda. I found that some birds wade in shallow water, while others feed on the rocky shoreline. The wading birds mostly have long legs and bills which enable them look for food in deeper waters.

It is amazing to watch them use there long legs that help them balance steadily in sand and mud. I photgraphed a couple of wading birds on Saturday morning just gone which include, Black tailed godwit, Dunlin and Redshank.

See below video I shot in a 100 frames per second to help slow down there movement, as these guys move very fast when feeding.
